Job from partnerWe are currently seeking an experienced Building Works Officer to join a Local Government Infrastructure team on a 6-month contract with potential for extension.
Rate: $52 – $54 per hour
Location: Strathpine
Contract: 6 months (with possibility of extension)
This role supports the delivery of building projects and minor capital works across Council facilities, ensuring assets remain safe, compliant, and fit for community use.
You’ll be involved across the full project lifecycle including:
- Planning, scoping, and coordinating building works
- Preparing project documentation and cost estimates
- Managing contractors and monitoring project delivery
- Conducting site inspections and ensuring WHS/compliance standards
- Supporting asset maintenance and facility upgrades
- Working closely with internal stakeholders and service providers
- Experience in building, construction, facilities, or maintenance environments
- Strong knowledge of WHS, building codes, and compliance requirements
- Ability to manage contractors and multiple project priorities
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to interpret plans, drawings, and technical documents
- Long-term contract with potential for extension
